OK - it's so not rock'n'roll - but I'm honest (or daft) enough to admit that I watch River City. Not regularly coz I'm often busy doing other stuff, but it's not a bad show. Here's a claim to fame - Krystyna & I ended up in The Jinglin Geordie one night and got chatting to the guy that plays Jimmy - he's actually really nice! Can't believe I'm ramblin on about this, it's not like it was Keith Richards. Anyone else want to 'fess up to guilty pleasures? Anyone else spent time in the company of celebs - even z listers?

I am proud to admit that I watch River City. How I'm going to feel once they change the format is a different matter. I honestly don't believe changing it to each episode being more or less a stand-alone story like Holby City is going to work and I believe they'll find that out to their cost when the viewing quotas come in. It's a shame because the scriptwriters worked damned hard to shake off the reputation it had as the laughing stock of BBC Scotland drama.

By the way, the only TV personality I've met is Egon Hofmann, who played a screw in the German version of Bad Girls. His photograph has decorated my desk on and off since I joined the DBC. Not sure what grade celebrity he would be - I don't think he'd actually like the title being attributed to him as he's really quite modest but for me he is and remains Numero Uno!

I agree with Doonhamer about the stand-alone stories on River City but at the same time I'm intrigued. It is something very different for a soap opera to depart from its original format and it will be interesting to see what the results are like. I just hope that it doesn't self destruct as many fans of the show are predicting.

I wonder what River City would be like if it was set in Leith or Methil?
