Anyone following the action at the Crucible?
I don't watch it as much as I used to (it seems to be heading back to the way it used to be, when the key safety technique was to prevent one's opponent getting a shot at the object ball by taking so long at the table it started to biodegrade) but will be interested to see who wins and with more free time than usual I'll try to catch at least some of the coverage.
I used to liven it up with a drinking game where I knocked back a shot of vodka every time the commentators used the phrase "A shot to nothing". They say it a lot. The year Ronnie O'Sullivan first won it I was half cut by the first interval.
Did anyone see his amazing fastest ever 147 break in 1997 as it happened? I did, about three months before getting my job at the DBC.

further to my last post, he did it again! Nice to make that amount of money for eight minutes' work huh? Though of course it's also the hours of practice which go into getting to that standard I suppose. Still...!

I see John Higgins won it this year. Good to have a Scottish champion again!

Yep - noticed that. Well done john! Not a big fan myself, but my folks are avid viewers and they loved the final apparently.
