Its coming round to that time of year again. Michelle Gayle is trying to revive her singing career in the UK heat. But she has no chance as the winner is already clear cut. Its the puppet Dustin The Turkey this years Irish entry and no its not an April Fool ;D

Yep - saw that! ;D
'bout time we admitted that we'll never get the votes to win any more - and do something equally ludicrous!
Chinese Jocks anyone?

Scotland are allowed their own entry this year. So obviously it has to be Hamish the Happy Haggis in a duet with everybodys favourite Scotsman Smeato singing ' Cum tae Scotland and we'll set aboot ye' to a beat of disco bagpipes.

I don't know why Britain bother's to take part in Eurovision, the east European countries have it all sawn up, it's like a cartel, they vote for each other and make sure that the west Europeans doesn’t have a chance. It's waste of money.

Human, what you say is correct but it has been for at least the past 6-8 years. Lighten up. So you have to enter into the spirit of the thing which is to have a party, get pissed and laugh at our fellow Europeans

Well - the usual fix of course, but there were a few gems in amongst all the dross. Our own dustbin man seemed to me to at least improved a bit since I last saw him in the UK heats. But for us, the Latvian Pirate song was the winner... However, a special word for the Bosnians. I mean - what the hell was that all about? ;D For those that didn't see it - it involved a bizarre Helena Bonham Carter lookalike, wearing a fibreglass skirt with apples painted on it, putting up washing on a washing line, while 4 geriatric old biddies in full bride's gowns stumbled about in the background, while a quite clearly insane wee Bosninan bloke ran about singing (well sort of) a song about ... well I doubt we'll ever find out now. It was called Pokušaj - It was genuinely entertaining though. Shame about the rest of course.

;D ;D ;D Hats off to Muz, who has achieved the impossible... After reading the above post I regret having missed Eurovision!!! Something I never, ever thought I would say. Not even to myself after looking around to make sure no-one was within earshot and that's in my own flat in which I live alone, never mind admitting it on a messageboard. Though I absolutely loved Katrina and the Waves' winning song "Love Shine A Light" whatever year that was. Hmmm. No, I don't regret having missed Eurovision. I just wish I had been channel surfing and happened upon just that one bizarre performance. Can I just have the party and get p%&?!d and laugh without having to actually watch it? Toot toot!

Ha ha! ;D I, of course, have to watch it every year at a BBQ/party with my god-kids - it's a kind of tradition... but I'll be honest - I'd watch it anyway - it's top quality entertainment as long as you don't think we (the UK) stand any chance of ever winning again. ;D Anyway - I can't possibly let Cal or anyone else be deprived of genius - so here it is on Youtube - won't work in the office of course! tinyurl.com/3jrzotEnjoy! ;D Modify: Had to add that the old grannies start knitting! - how could I have forgotten that?

I am of sound mind, may I make a couple of suggestions for next year :
(1) SIR TERRY WOGAN singing the " Floral Dance " to A Euro-beat " type tune with Baltic tones
OR
(2) THE KRANKIES singing bingo numbers to the tune " Donald Where's Your Troosers "
I was wondering if there were any other suggestions to this VERY important matter - National Pride and all that !!! ?.

Must admit i didnt watch it on the night. It took me about 35 minutes to fast forward thru the songs. Agree with Muz about most of the songs. i also liked the German song and would have stood a chance if they hadnt kept singing the chorus out of tune. and wot about the Swedish presenter giving the scores out. i'd like a pint of whatever he had that night. The papers are full of 'Sir Terry' saying its all political and he doesnt think he will do it next year. Well its been like that for at least the last 6-8 years already. I think Mr Wogan is looking for a pay rise. its rumoured the UK wont get an automatic place in the final nxt year. well we should say sod it and not enter as the bulk of the money for staging the competition comes from the BBC. They were pleased with the ratings, almost 10 million which in this day and age of multi channels is a brilliant figure. So they may not want to give that up. I ve said I wont watch it again but I know when it comes round next year I'll tune in

Although the political wranglings are fun, it must be an open competition.
