Hi All
It occurs to me that when the final leaving do occurs at the end of August we should book a venue now - or start to register the event as a festival event.
Anyone have any ideas of a venue?
If not does anyone have a suggestion for what the act can be.
Possibly a realistic forum discussing redundancy whilst partaking of alcohol in a modern setting?
Anyone else?

I see where your coming from - I think we could register with the Fringe Office and do that "Staff Discipline Through Theatre" gig that the Jobcentre Plus Managment mob wanted to do. We would of course adapt it.

Hi All Possibly a realistic forum discussing redundancy whilst partaking of alcohol in a modern setting? Anyone else? How about more of an accent on slapstick - and possibly covering more than one venue - the audience follows the main protagonist around as he: a. Falls into a large potted plant in the Firkin. b. Falls asleep standing upright. c. Disappears in Chanters, only to be found slumped in a settee, fast asleep between some rather worried looking office workers on a night out - in the reserved section... d. Before finally standing up and doing the famous soliloquy "I'm from Hull!" I reckon it could win a Perrier.... ;D

Here's a thought; what will Edinburgh and Blackpool eventually have in common? Trams.
So how about a pub crawl with a difference, taking bizarre and circuitous diversions between venues in keeping with current conditions?
;D toot toot ;D

Might take years for that to happen - however, Manchester also has trams and I've certainly had a laugh down there before. In fact Amsterdam have trams = I had a great time there. Munich - yep, they have trams and I had a whopper of a time there too.... Nah - it was probably the beer! ;D

Muz has just punted out (is about to punt out... will do at some point) an e-mail about this shindig.
With neither of us being experienced organisers it's time for all you canny people out there to chuck some ideas around.

How's about Chaplin's open top disco bus On second thoughts, maybe not. Too many possibilities of someone (no names mentioned) falling off!!!!!

Just checked the Fringe web site and it appears that it's all over by 25th August this year. We can all relax now and do our usual last minute dash to a pub somewhere near Argyle House ... Hurrah! ;D

Hi there I think we should go back to the Shakespeare. There's far more seating than the Beehive and there's less distance to carry drinks back to your seat and an even floor surface - which means less chance of spillage! Plus the Grassmarket will still be heaving with tourists.
Looking forward to it

I agree with Doonhamer. The Shakespeare has a larger outside seating area too and the buffet last time looked great with a good selection of different types of party food.
