There is a book in us all......

To that end about a year ago I started writing a book - crime fiction. It started very well and I amassed 22000 words and then I dried up - writers block had struck !.

Recently. I joined a group of aspiring writers in Edinburgh. I took a copy of my book so far and read a number of extracts. I was pleasantly surprised that those attending gave me positive feedback - they want to hear more !.

I have now been re-motivated, so watch this space....

Well done you. I look forward to an update. I have a partly-written film script on the go, just can't get it finished and pushed to the right people otherwise I might be up for a BAFTA in due course

Haven't got round to the Edinburgh Writers' site yet but yesterday there was going to be (couldn't watch it because I was rushing out the door to work) a news item on BBC breakfast about a woman who'd had her first novel published at the ripe old age of 82! Don't know if you saw it, Huw, but I thought about you when I heard about it and thought it would give you encouragement to press on with your novel. It's never too late to take up a new challenge - I've just had my third lesson on the double bass!

Update.....I have now reached the half point mark (approx. 30000 words). I am really enjoying the positive and critical feedback from the Writers Group.

The title of the novel is - "Sunflower".
