Anyone been in the prototype tram they've got set up on Princes Street and open for viewing? It's well smart and the seats are so comfortable. I think it's a good idea to let the public see exactly what we're getting in return for putting up with the disruption. We hope!

I've not been on it yet. I'm not sure why we need them, Lothian buses are doing a very good job in providing public transport. I think we may be creating Edinburgh's New Folly...............?.

Not gonna start on trams cos i'd never finish! anyhoo, i particularly appreciate the vandalism of said prosthetic - don't know what the fine piece of art was that adorned the bastard lovechild of thatcher in a threesome with satan & sadam but it wasn't my handywork! Isn't it just what we need - really - i'm all soft & gooey inside at the thought of taxpayers money being spent to give 24hr protection to a cardboard cutout! Cost is minimal compared to the outlay we are making for the real thing - god above i can't wait till i can boycott the the biggest white elephant our nation has ever seen!! Truly - i am moved to using the c word (plural). Edinburgh is not big enough for trams - simple. Edinburgh doesn't need or want trams - simple. Tourists dont give a f**k about trams & now they can't afford to come here anyway! Rant rant rant aaaargh!! TIE - RIPPING THE HEART OUT OF EDINBURGH.

I reckon they should save taxpayers' money by posting cardboard cutouts of security guards next to the cardboard bit of the tram
