Maybe there will be, but I see that quite a few folk are now (and rightly so if they want to be) arranging get togethers for their closest colleagues and friends - but maybe the thankless task of organising anything bigger is not too attractive a propostion to folk.  Unless there are better ideas, I was thinking of just announcing a place and date on this site - and then folk can add their comments if they want to go and if they prefer a different venue etc.. I don't eat pub buffets anyway, and don't most folk meet up and have some food 1st??  I could do an auto-email to every member so that they would get a heads up about it - but looking at the membership, you'd be amazed at how many e-mail addresses are for the Argyle House address.....  Scary. Anyway - everyone's thoughts are welcome - lets get a debate started!!! |

You might want to avoid the actual Easter holidays as a lot of people may be away and the venues will be busier with tourists. Suggesting a date and place on here is probably the best way to go. At the time of typing this message, this thread has been read 40 times. I know that doesn't necessarily mean 40 different people but once others have something to say yes or no to, you should still get enough responses to have an idea of whether or not it's likely to take off. I agree with Cal125, we're probably best avoiding the actual Easter holiday and going for something maybe at the beginning of May. I missed the December bash as well - working in Bathgate Tesco - but would love to see people again since I haven't been to any events since the one on the 29th of August.

Interesting - if there is anything you think I could do with the site to help etc, let me know. As you know, I did do a broadcast e-mail to all members about the new address (www.argyleneuk.co.uk), but a lot of members have old DBC e-mail addresses which are obviously completely invalid, and are therefore not getting any of the communications. I'd really like to get them updated - so if you have any ideas how to go about that, let me know too.  |

Any Friday night is OK for me. As it happens, I will actually be in Edinburgh on the 9th but most people have plans of their own for Saturday nights. Will keep checking to see when most people are available.

How's about someone booking somewhere where we could have a race night? We had a few in A/H when we had the old sports & social club and bar downstairs and they always went down very well.  |

I've got a confession to make - I was getting a bit frustrated with this thread and just sort of made an ....er... EO decision and just THREW a date into the pot! (without checking the true boss, Mrs Muz - and got it wrong of course...) - so basically I can only attend the 8th, 22nd or 29th... (Billy would definitely not be able to attend the 15th I would guess, as it's the day before Eurovision! ) Sorry about that. So can we all agree on a date and venue etc - for my part I will broadcast an e-mail to all members' registered addresses about the existence of this forum thread, and we can try and take it forward from there. |
