Was going to put w**k but realised that would probably be cut out lol . Anyway, is it about time we started to hear how people are getting on with job hunting (those that have started looking anyway). I would love to hear where people have moved on to and wish them luck.

Well I can't report much myself - I signed on today and showed the bloke my piece of paper with 3 things I've done seeking work written on it - and he seemed happy enough and let me go. I am actually looking, but everything so far is either too low paid or in Orkney (thanks civil service gateway for that one). I'm still miffed that even my JSA will eventually have 40% taxed on it, so am having to make sure that any job I take will indeed be worth it.


I better add that I'm not being unreasonable about my expectations - I just don't think you should jump at the first job opportunity that's £10K below what you were earning previously. (If circumstances allow you this luxury of course...)

Oh and these jobs do exist - it's just that they've been in Glasgow (and Orkney LOL) so far. Still it's a long road......

Try www.jobstoday.co.uk & type in "administration" only. It brings up some cracking jobs with really good salaries. I am not looking yet due to uncertainty of family health but may will def use that site when I do.

I have had one interview to date - unfortunately I was not successful. The key is to stay positive don't give up at the first fence, I picked myself up and continued to look for work. A close friend told me that there is a job out there with your name on it - hold on to that.

Wise words; I completely agree there. That's the spirit. Employers will pick up on it if you carry that positive vibe with you too.
